This series of photographs is an exploration of my father and grandmother. The project combines portraits with close-up images of the parts of their bodies that I feel are the most unique to them. I am interested in the stories that the details of our bodies, such as hands and eyes can tell. One can start to envision what a person does for a living or as a hobby by looking at the hands. Are they smooth, rough, slender, or plump? One can visualize what a person has experienced or is feeling by looking at the eyes. Is the skin creased or smooth? Do they look disheartened or hopeful? My photographs illustrate how beautiful the body is at every stage of life.
