I have grown as a portrait photographer in my years at Columbia. I originally hated this style of photography but when I moved to Chicago in the middle of the pandemic I wanted to explore the city. The way I did this was take pictures of people around the city. The more portraits I took the better they got and the more I like the interactions from portrait photography. My favorite part of photographing people is the moment you see them relax and get comfortable, the pictures are always more natural and better representation of the model after this point. Overall my work focuses on the queer community in Chicago. Primarily through portrait in the streets of Chicago. I want to celebrate the community through my art.
