The photographs in this series show a person who fled his country after being tortured. This is his journey in America. My images communicate his feelings and what occurred that made him flee his country. The inspiration for this series is my father who was tortured in Ecuador for expressing his political opinions and beliefs. Through the use of portraits, close ups, family snapshots, and historical documents I am interested in reveling what happens to people who wish to live a better life but cannot do so in their own country.
