The Silent Generation photo series captures seniors born before or during World War 2, who grew up without modern technology and navigated through wars and various historical events. Through environmental portraiture, I want to show their surroundings and the details, the things that are important for them. I am very curious about what it is and why it has meaning to them. Seniors who are part of the project are from America and Poland, photographs were taken in both countries. I am hoping that by blending different cultures, I can uncover some universal truths about life. I hope that this project will bridge generations. It is a little nudge, a reminder that the Silent Generation, usually in the background, is a hidden treasure and that it is the last moment when we can discover it.
