From the body of work Here We Believe, these photographs, and screenshots from the app Nextdoor document the Chicago neighborhood of Uptown. What appears at first to be a progressive stronghold reveals itself to be a deeply reactionary community, preoccupied with property, race, and surveillance. The work interrogates the layered reality of digital and physical spaces as they become the frontiers of the ongoing culture wars.
