“Body Horror” is a photographic project that depicts surreal and cinematic self-portraits of, or symbolic of, the body paired with grotesque imagery. I explore how identity, mental illness, and trauma intersect to create a horror show manifested through the body. Through a deliberate use of symbolism and the color red, I create raw, dramatized expressions of very intense and confusing emotions. I am interested in exploring how mental health and identity coexist and alter the relationship with the physical body.
