Hello, my name is Haley Cary. I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. I spend my summers hiking and fishing in Alaska. I never thought I would become a photographer; I initially envisioned myself as a corporate businesswoman or a marine biologist or a chef. However, at age 13 I picked up my first camera and fell in love with the ability to freeze a moment in time. The first subjects I ever photographed were swans. I knew I wanted to be a photographer from that moment on, and 10 years later, after years of experience and 4 years of college studying the art and science of photography, I still think about those swans. Before I got to college, I took a gap year and lived in New Zealand. I have also traveled all over the world to places like, Australian, Costa Rica, Japan, Italy, Wales and all over the USA. As a lifelong Alaskan I have a profound love for nature and the environment and how to keep wild places wild. In my photography I aim to make the viewer feel as if they are part of the narrative, and one day I hope to be a storyteller for brands that promote people and the well-being of this planet.
