Ali began photographing in high school as an assistant for a local wedding photographer in Central Illinois. Her junior year, Ali began dual credit classes at the local junior college where she focused on Photojournalism. After high school, Ali studied Photography at Heartland Community College; she became the Marketing Director and photographer for the programming board. Along with documenting events, Ali planned events and designed event marketing strategies with fellow committee members to engage the student body at HCC. This led to being invited to photograph the HCC 2015 Alternative Spring Break book. In 2016, Ali studied abroad at Canterbury Christ Church University, where she photographed her first zine Wanderlust. Ali transferred to Columbia College Chicago to pursue a degree in Commercial Photography in 2017. In May 2020, Ali became a first generation college graduate in her family. After graduation, she hopes to start assisting on commercial photography sets.
